Ssssshhhhhhhhhhh, here comes the sponge!

1 Apr

My daughter is ‘the sponge‘!

Miss Z isn’t actually yellow nor does she look like Sponge Bob Square Pants but she is at an age where she is absorbing so much information from the world around her.

She is a great parrot as she mimics sounds and words. After much coaxing she can now say her name, it sounds like “Ra-ra” which is a good attempt as I am sure at 20 months the letter Z is hard to say.

Now, the sponge part can pose a problem, especially if a random f-bomb is dropped mid conversation when Zara is near (don’t know what the f-bomb is?? Think of a swear word that rhymes with truck!)

We haven’t heard her say it………..yet!

I don’t swear a lot. Only when I say, kick my little toe on the bottom of the bed post (that does hurt!) or if I am driving and some idiot decides to pull out in front of me (I have my two babies in the car!), or if my beloved Parramatta Eels are losing yet another game (what can I say, I am a passionate supporter!)….ok, ok maybe I swear more than I should, so it has to stop!

So, we are now looking at ‘sweet’ substitutes for the nasty words. Instead of the s-bomb, we will replace it with ‘sugar’, and the f-bomb is now ‘fudge’. I am sure we’ll  be able to curb this bad habit and Miss Z will not have her mouth washed out with soap any time soon! 😉

As I sit here and let you know of my swearing dilemma, I am trying to deal with another!  I can see Miss Z has AGAIN taken off her nappy showing her bare bottom (see, not even the word bum is in the vocabulary anymore!) which she loves to do. I am getting really sick of her doing it, however 99% of the time it is not even dirty.

As always the nappy is lying in the middle of the lounge room floor, yet another thing I have to pick up!  Hang on, from here the nappy looks full,  actually it is VERY FULL!

Oh FUDGE!! It’s SUGAR!
